Podcast SummaryThis is a bi weekly podcast dedicated to bring you some of the best in electronic and dance music. Dru West is your conductor on the wheels of steel. We will also be featuring special quest DJ's from around the world. About DruBorn and raised in Milwaukee, WI this veteran has a musical background since 8 years old playing trumpet, piano, drums, and singing. At the age of 18 Dru started Djing in college playing your more Top 40 Dance Music. A few years later electronic music and the rave scene was coming into it's own in Chicago. After going to Dru's first rave in Chicago this was the music, vibe and scene that Dru wanted to be apart of for the rest of his life. Dru started rocking the underground Midwest rave scene and in 99' moved to San Diego, CA. In Southern California the scene was different then the Midwest. Electronic music was more in the club’s, then underground raves. The changing moment in Dru's career was meeting Jon Stinson owner of Sinurgey Productions. Jon took Dru under his wing and taught him everything he knew. Dru helped Jon in taking Club Velvet (at the Del Mar Race Track) from 700 people every Saturday night to 3,000 people every Saturday night and a staple in the Southern California club scene. From there Sinurgey Productions started doing huge events in LA and Vegas as well. In the Fall of 2000 they were about to pass a law banning rave's in WI. Dru went to capitalize on it. He went back to WI and started E-Clipse Productions taking all the advice and knowledge from Jon. Dru's plan was to bring the underground rave scene into the club's in WI, as it was in San Diego and most other major cities. Dru and E-Clipse Productions started doing Club Roxy in Madison, WI every Thursday bringing in over 1,000 college students/clubbers. Dru's concept was simple (that of the great Paul Oakenfold's) to have your own residency and bring in a big name DJ once a month to help get your name out there more. In addition to Club Roxy, Dru started Montage Monday's as well as putting on other special event's around the WI/IL area. Meanwhile when not promoting his own show's Dru was busy Djing other event's and on radio stations 92.7 - Madison/ 105.7 - Janesville. In 2003 Dru moved to San Francisco, CA. It was at this time that Dru's career really started to take off. Dru started to put on his own events around the Bay area and was part of Lighter Knight's DJ collective. Dru's resume of club's in San Fran included Ten15 Folsom, Fuse, Vertigo Bar, Hush Hush, Snow Drift, Azul, Element Lounge, Suede, Mighty, Shadow Lounge, Fluid, iL MASSIMO Lounge, Lit Lounge, Red Eye Lounge, EZ5, Naked Fish, Club 6ix, Nickies, Roe/Prive, and various underground parties, just to name a few. Dru's CD release, “Runway Journey”, was released in the Summer of 2006 and has been enjoyed by thousands of fans world wide. Recently Dru has taken a more behind the scenes approach to things and has been busy in the studio working on some new material. His latest material can be found on radio commercials, some network TV stations, and Independent Films. You can also catch his bi-weekly radio show “E-Music” at www.e-clipseproductions.com and http://druwest.podomatic.com/. Dru recently moved to New York City and will release his next CD in the Spring of 2010.
